What is MY AUTHORITY?

YETKİM is the identity federation established for higher education and research institutions affiliated with the National Academic Network ULAKNET.

YETKİM provides authentication and authorization infrastructure for web resources with the Single Sign-On (SSO) method. With this infrastructure, access to inter-institutional web resources becomes simple and secure.

TOA is an authentication and authorization mechanism that provides access to all services with a single login with a single user. While this method simplifies username and password management for users, it also reduces the labor required for system administration. Thus, users are provided with access to different services such as e-mail, library and student system in a single step.

In the Identity Federation infrastructure;

·         Individuals have a single identity information and this information is recorded by their institution, ensuring security and confidentiality.

·         The web resource manager does not have to store and secure user credentials and does not take action regarding authentication.

·         Identity verification is carried out by the individuals' own institutions.

·         Service providers and identity providers mutually share metadata about their services.

YETKİM is operated by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. YETKİM is also a member of eduGAIN. eduGAIN is a global service operated by the European Academic network GEANT.  With the participation of federations operated by the education and research networks of 73 different countries, more than 2,600 identity providers and more than 1,800 service providers have been gathered under the same roof.
